• Application of thermochronology (40Ar/39Ar, U/Pb ion microprobe, fission track, and (U-Th)/He techniques) to tectonics
• Pressure-Temperature-time-deformation histories of crustal terranes
• Plate boundary processes in the SW Pacific (e.g., Woodlark Basin, PNG; Alpine Fault, NZ; high P/T belt of New Caledonia)
• Continental extensional tectonics (e.g., in the Solomon Sea, Aegean Sea, Ross Sea/Ice Shelf, and SW Arizona)
